One of the few places in Helmond which has an alternatieve ring to it. The owners make you feel at ease and welcome. Own or manage this property?
The friends will be coming up from Kent so anywhere nearer to Victoria or at least not too far away on the tube would be ideal.
I don't think you can beat a Wetherspoon's pub for the whole 'easy to talk' atmosphere. Might not be the trendiest places but they tick plenty of boxes. It seems every bar and pub in London seems to turn into a nightclub with super loud music on Friday and Saturday, even when its clear everyone there is just sitting down and talking.
Welcome to #otalk
I would also second a call for Wetherspoons, they have really stepped up their drinks selection recently and the food is alright for the price. Its pretty hard to get better value for money in London these days. Third call for Wetherspoons here, just so long as it isn't a Lloyds branded pub - our local Lloyds Bar has the loudest music of all the bars on a weekend night.
Not a fourth. Head to a real pub.
There's plenty around in London that aren't rammed. My choice would be " The Exmouth Arms " in Clerkenwella great atmosphere.

Possibly no music at all, in fact. One thing to warn you about in case you don't like cheese is that they have a fine selection of cheeses to have with your wine.
The cheeses are not compulsory, but they do smell rather strongly. Jugged hare on Vauxhall bridge Road is usually busy but not rammed on a Friday. If there are a few of you and you're eating, you can probably book a table in a corner or upstairs.
Think you can book a table and it is very easy to get to for people coming into Victoria. Thanks for all your replies guys!
Best place to drink/chat/socialise? - london forum
My girlfriend said there's a nice Wetherspoons in Baker Street. I don't really go out to many drinking places in London so not sure on what is good or not. I'd quite like to go to in Farringdon as that looks quite quirky and fun, but too far from Victoria unfortunately! That Wetherspoons is arguably the worst in central London.

My vote would go to The Jugged Hare or the Star. It's a very nice building and well maintained. It's mostly popular with City workers, students from King's College London, and police officers. Log in to get trip updates and message other travellers.
